I came across this video on The Gospel Coalition blog today, and it fits well with where we are in the “Questioning Your Salvation?” series. We’ve already talked about how many Christians believe they are saved simple because they said a prayer, which I believe to be the case because of a misunderstanding of our sin nature. Then we discussed the real, Biblical effects of sin.

Controversy is nothing new to Christianity. The Kingdom of God exploded on earth in the midst of a world of controversy. There was controversy between the Jews about whether to try to rebel and overthrow Rome, and fight for their freedom. There was more internal controversy between the Jewish religious leaders about whether there would be a resurrection. Then Jesus enters the picture, and it gets even more controversial.

Where were you when the world stopped turning? This is the question that Trevin Wax asked his readers on his blog. Trevin also asked some of the leading pastors about their thoughts on ministry in a Post-9/11 World. Tim Keller did an excellent job addressing the issues of suffering, hope, and God’s sovereignty over 9/11 for The Gospel Coalition. Crossway had a series of posts based on R.C. Sproul’s book When Worlds Collide: Where is God?, asking Was 9/11 A Senseless Tragedy?, discussing this tragic event’s effect on Moral Relativism, and how 9/11 Shows the Value of Human Life. And Russell Moore does an absolutely outstanding job discussing The Gospel at Ground Zero for Christianity Today.
