Well, I made it a few more verses in Romans before I was stopped in my tracks.
Romans 1:8 ESV
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.
I’ll be honest, part of me hates writing this. Because writing this means that I understand it, have told the whole world about it (or the 50 people that might read this), and now I’m more accountable for it.
It’s been a crazy ride the past couple of years watching our oldest son, Calvin, grow into the walking, talking, ball of energy that he is now. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday when I held him in my arms listening to little baby sounds, or maybe I’m delirious and I’m really remembering his two month old baby brother, Joseph.
Parenting has been simultaneously one of the hardest things in my life and one of the most joy-filled, and joy-producing, things as well. It’s so hard to be woken up at 8:00 in the morning on the weekend, or in the morning at all on the weekend, but nothing compares to seeing that little man smile as he pulls himself up on me after he drinks his bottle and starts to play with us. He’s so happy and playful and it lights up the room.
