The Explicit Gospel

First, I must confess that I’m really late in writing this review. Partly because of technical difficulties (hard to write when your laptop crashes). Mostly, though, because I noticed that it was no accident that I began reading this book during a season when I felt disconnected and dry, and I did not want to rush through the book for the sake of writing a review on time when I felt God working in me to break up hard ground and stir my affections for Him once again. I am incredibly grateful to Crossway for providing me an advanced copy of The Explicit Gospel, and for their grace and patience in waiting for me to complete the review.

Empty Promises

We all chase after temporary things to find our identity, even those of us who know we shouldn’t. We are allured and seduced by success, approval, relationships, money, and even legalistic religion. This is why I am incredibly grateful for Pastor Voddie Baucham’s latest book, Family Shepherds: Calling and Equipping Men to Lead Their Homes, which Crossway books was kind enough to send me as part of their book review program.

Fearsome Grace

I just recently became acquainted with Preston Yancey’s blog through A Deeper Story when my step-dad emailed me a link to one of Preston’s stories. It took about ten seconds for me to add both blogs to my RSS feed. After Preston posted a preview of his Advent eBook, This Fearsome Thing of Grace, I was ecstatic when he announced that he wanted bloggers to review it. Preston was gracious enough to send me a free copy of the eBook for review purposes, and it has been my joy to read it, and I pray that I do his brilliant work justice as I write.

Reviewing The Voice NT

Once again, I’ve received another book to review from BookSneeze. This one was a little more interesting to me, and hopefully to you, because it’s a new translation of the Bible called The Voice.
